Media Release - Adoptathon 2002
Looking for that special someone in your life?
That lifelong companion? Lifelong
friends are usually hard to find until now.
Bishop Animal Shelter has just the friend for you a
furry friend, that is. On May 4th
and 5th, Bishop Animal Shelter is joining thousands of animal welfare
organizations for Pet Adoptathon 2002, an annual worldwide event.
On Saturday, May 4th Bishops adoption area will be open
from 9AM until 4:30PM. On Sunday, the Shelter will be open from 12 Noon until 4PM.
Bishop staff will be at the Petsmart store on 14th
Street with pictures of adoptable dogs and cats, directions to the Shelter and a
wide variety of educational brochures about animal care available to the public.
For those wonderful people who will be adopting an
animal from the Shelter this special weekend
a reminder that the animals are fully ready to go for a donation of only
$35. The cats and dogs are up to
date with shots, have been spayed or neutered, vet tech checked, have permanent
identification with Bishop and will make a great companion.
A special feature of the Pet Adoptathon 2002 in
Bradenton are Emergency Planning Kits which will be available to all people who
live with a special dog, cat, ferret, bird, snake or whatever. With the hurricane season fast approaching, Bishop Animal
Shelter has developed special packets of information on disaster plans for all
owners of pets. Contents include an
emergency identification card, an identification tag, a window cling, and
brochures on safe boarding, planning, documentation and required emergency
supplies. The planning kits are
free and available at the Shelter to all pet owners.
So plan to visit Bishop at 5718 21st Avenue West in Bradenton on May 4th
between 9AM and 4:30 or on Sunday May 5th between 12 Noon and 4PM for
that special new friend and your disaster planning kit.
